London Accordion Orchestra present Super Accordion Orchestra Day 2018 – Sunday 14th October 2018-The Village Hall, Ripley, Surrey
It’s Super Accordion Orchestra Day at Ripley on Sunday 14th October. Following on from the success of last year, a ‘mini orchestra’ aimed at under 16s will be offered too. This will be a free workshop with instruments available to borrow and is suitable for children who have recently started to play the accordion and those who are complete beginners.
The Barimar Quartet at Pizza Express, Dean Street, Soho, London. 12.00 Sunday 7th October 2018. The name Barimar conjurs up the magic of the golden era of accordion music. Barimar, born Mario Barigazzi in 1925, along with Gorni Kramer, Wolmer Beltrami, Gigi Stok, Nando Monica and Carlo Venturi were Italy’s most prominent global accordionists. Fortunately, the Barimar Quartet, comprising of Accordionist Iuri Vallara, a student of Barimar, violinist Marina Mammarella, bassist Agide Bandini and percussionist Domenico Fontana, are bringing Barimar’s music to London.

TEYR and The Twisted Twenty join forces for a spellbinding double bill full of tales, melodies and musical journeys. Their tour takes them across the south of the UK, stopping off at in Abergavenny, Somerset, West Cornwall and London next week. The concerts are a rare opportunity for collaboration between bands exploring two radically different perspectives on British folk music.
