RAM graduate Ben manages to continue his studies and concert career. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music last year, accordionist Ben de Souza is studying choral conducting at Cambridge this year. He is managing to continue playing concerts and study his conducting simultaneously which is both impressive and very welcome to all those who want to see the accordion played across many musical genres.
London-based accordionist Emmy Dumitru secures place at RAM. He has been studying with Romano Viazzani for a year and half and will start his studies at the RAM next September under the expert tutelage of Prof. Owen Murray.
Milos Milivojevic on accordion – London Tango Quintet – St Peter’s Church, Chiswick, London March 15th 2019. After their sold-out 2018 concert the London Tango Quintet return to St Peter’s Church for an evening of sumptious tango classics by Piazzolla, Salgan and more. Sevenoaks Three Arts Festival – Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th June 2019. This is one of two popular music festivals in the South East of England who include and actively encourage the participation of accordionists. Maidstone Music Festival was last November and now June see the return of neighbouring festival Sevenoaks Three Arts Festival in June 2019.

Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and Astor Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. What does Italian baroque music have in common with Argentinian tango? They’re both full of rhythm and dance, both have freedom to embellish and improvise. Hear the two meet as we take one of orchestral music’s most recognisable pieces and reinvent it with a Latin twist, including both violin and accordion soloists.
