Metodo per Bandoneon – Bandoneon Method – A new and much needed tutor for Chromatic Bandoneon by Cesare Chiacchieretta (in English and Italian)
At last, a wonderful new tutor for chromatic bandoneon devised by ace accordionist and bandoneonist Cesare Chiacchieretta. Of the many systems of bandoneon that exist, the chromatic bandoneon is by far the easiest to learn for accordionists. It is quite similar in layout to the C system chromatic button accordion but is not bisonoric like the bandoneons that are used in Argentina to play tango whilst still offering the same kind of sound. Chromatic bandoneons have been produced as far back as the early to mid- 20th century by Alfred Arnold and Fratelli Crosio and some accordion manufacturers like Victoria and Pigini still make them today as well as dedicated bandoneon-makers such as Harry Geuns in the Netherlands and Bandonion Fabrik in Klingenthal, Germany.
The tutor moves quickly from simple exercises to advanced articulation, technical and stylistic exercises so is aimed more at a musician who is making the transition to the instrument rather than at an absolute beginner with no musical knowledge.
Whilst the English translation is sometimes not perfect the books layout is clear and simple and well presented with it’s glossy cover and with over 120 pages, must be of great value to any accordionist making the transition to bandoneon as a second instrument.
