A busy summer for accordionist Karen Tweed

The wonderful Karen Tweed must be one of the busiest accordionists in the UK.  She is ever-popular with her music drawing inspiration from World Music particularly from Scandinavia and Ireland.  Her CDs always feature collaborations with fabulous musicians.  You will find many of them in our CD section on this site. She’s also always busy teaching at workshops all over the UK.  Catch her at a venue near you this summer:

Pier Street Playhouse 3.30pm – 5pm
Tickets : under 6 years : £3; over 16s : £5; family ticket (2 adults and 2 under 16s – none of whom need be related) : £10

A gentle (no experience necessary) barn dance – fancy dress optional (prizes for under 8 years, under 16 years and over 16s). Music by Karen Tweed (accordion), Mark Hickman (guitar and voice), Lorna Brownswood (flute) and caller Ian Watterson. Fancy dress optional on the theme of Shipwrecks and Sailors. . . you can come as the Mary Rose, a crab or a lobster pot or pirate, for example. . .
