Karen Street is a musician who always commands the greatest of respect. She is an immensely able and talented accordionist, always tasteful and imaginative and whose music is always relevant to life. She is one of the few accordionists who predominately use free bass in jazz.

Accordion-lovers should not miss the Deco Ensemble’s concert on the 9th of July at 8pm at the Purcell Room (Southbank Centre) in London with accordionist Bartosz Glowacki. Glowacki, who is studying at The Royal Academy of Music has just finished his undergraduate course and has been very busy working both with the Deco Ensemble and as a soloist.
19th June will be a very special club night at Guildford Accordion Club at Ripley Village Hall featuring guest accordionist Eddie Hession and Friends. Eddie is one of the UK’s finest musicians – a world tour with the Three Tenors – accompanist of choice to Pavarotti – member of ZUM – currently about to start a three week tour of Scotland with the Budapest Café Orchestra.

Joanna Strand has given the Cabaret-going public some great entertainment in the last few years at The Pheasantry, The Forge, The Jermyn Street Theatre in London and the Carlyle and Feinsteins in New York. London’s top Cabaret venue, the wonderful The Crazy Coqs in all its Art Deco glory now beckons and June 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2015 see three nights each with a different headlining artist sharing the platform with Joanna.
After a very successful CD launch at The Pheasantry David Vaughan is back at Oliver’s Jazz Bar on 13th March 2015, not as the larger ensemble that launched the CD which at times featured 6 musicians on the stage, but down to the trio-sized outfit in order to fit on the tiny stage at Oliver’s Jazz bar.
Having (both) been the accordionist for many years with the famous Cosmic Sausages the Squeezy Cheesers are a duo that bring a wealth of busking experience and musical idiocy to their new project. Combining accordion virtuosity with a powerful ability to reduce some of the world’s most beautiful tunes to ruins they have a firmly placed foot in the absurd and their tongues very much in cheek.
David Vaughan’s long-awaited first album brings together some of London’s top jazz and classical talent to perform his own inimitable repertoire of English ‘chansons’. Don’t miss the launch at The Pheasantry, King’s Road, Chelsea.
