Mixing Parisian folk music ( musette) , French chanson and unforgettable 20’s upbeat to 50’s smooth jazz, feel the mood with film noir/nouvelle vague arrangements and the occasional rearranged cool 60’s French pop tune. If you’re a vintage stud, francophile, jazz lover then this is the gig for you.
The dulcet tones of Parisian born Fifi’s voice and the evocative sound of her accordion blended with the talents of Alex Garnett on clarinet will take you straight back to that little café by the Eiffel tower. Mark Ridout on guitar will then transport you to the buzzy jazz club by Pigalle and you can simmer in the July heat with the groove of Julian Bury on double bass.
Fifi and her band have played at the likes of Ronnie’s, The Brasserie Zedel, The Elgar Room, Flower Hall at the Covent Garden Royal Opera House, as well as jazz clubs, art centres and town halls across the U.K.
The Band:
Fifi La Mer – Vocals (French/English) and Accordion
Alex Garnett – Tenor Saxophone / Clarinet / Vocals
Mark Ridout – Guitar
Julian Bury – Double Bass
A very entertaining, fun and romantic evening assured.
Forget your worries, your passport, even your GCSE French isn’t necessary – here at one of London’s finest Jazz Clubs. We’re taking you to gay Paree for this years Bastille Day!
