Martynas Levickis wins “Instrumentalist of the Year” at the prestigious Opus Klassik Award

Levickis won the ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ award for his debut album Autograph, released in March this year on Accentus Music, which spans a broad range of repertoire from his own arrangements of Bach and Philip Glass to original Lithuanian folk song compositions. He recently hosted BBC Radio 3’s Inside Music programme on 21st October 2023 where he talked about his influences and even played his own astonishing recording of Phillip Glass’s Etude No. 6, one of 4 that he has recorded on his album “Autograph” for which he won the award. Levickis reached No1 in the UK Classical Charts 10 years ago with his debut album “Martynas”, has recently been made visiting professor to the Royal Academy of Music along with another global leading light of the accordion, his former RAM classmate Ksenija Sidorova.

Both are great ambassadors for the accordion and an inspiration to young people wishing to play the accordion worldwide.
