Fabulous new album by accordionist/composer, Mark Bousie

Mark Bousie album Beyond the border

Beyond the Border is a trans-European journey told through the accordion

It’s always great to see a British-based accordionist release a new album.  It reminds us the the UK is still a fertile ground for the accordion and its music. Mark Bousie learned the accordion from a young age with Sylvia Wilson in Perth before going on to become one of the early crop of students who studied at the RAM with Owen Murray.  He wrote this album (eight originals and one arrangement) for Audio Network and it’s absolutely delightful to listen to. The pieces are in a traditional easy-listening style with a typically continental line-up of instruments played by some top UK-based musicians. We have not seen the likes of such an album in the UK for a good while but the album is not in any way passé.  It feels fresh and is flawlessly and musically executed by Bousie. Each style is authentically reproduced and is an album that one would definitely enjoy driving around Europe to.  So start thinking about your Summer holidays, get streaming/downloading these super pieces of music and enjoy a really lovely album of accordion music.
