Royal Academy of Music Accordion Department Events for Spring 2017 – Accordion Concerts and Masterclasses for the spring featuring, Corrado Rojac, Borut Zagoranski and Mie Miki

Sevenoaks Three Arts Festival 10th, 11th and 17th and 18th June 2017. Sevenoaks Three Arts Festival always includes an Accordion and Concertina Section as does Maidstone Music festival which, many accordionists like to participate in. Friedrich Lips- Lecture and Masterclass- Royal Academy of Music – 23rd & 24th February 2017 and Accordion Dept. Concert featuring Russian Bayan Music. The event, held over two days includes a Lecture on Russain Bayan Music given by Prof. Lips as well as an accordion department masterclass and concert. No tickets are required and the event is completely free.
The Wonderful accordionist Martynas Levickis has a busy year ahead including many fixtures in China as well as the UK and Europe. Don’t miss him at a venue near you.
Sunday Sessions present The Southern Cone Quintet – Sunday February 19th 2017. Anisa Arslanagić – violin, Claude Werner – clarinet/flute/arranger, James Kitchman – electric guitar, Iñigo Mikeleiz Berrade – accordion, Louis Thomas – double bass- Southern Cone Quintet takes its name from the geographical area of the same name, embracing the countries of Uruguay, Argentina and Chile. The Southern Cone has a rich and diverse musical tradition, with genres including Tango, Cueca, and Candombe, as well as indigenous ethnic forms such as Mapuche music.
