UKAAT have announced their Teacher & Student Workshop at Razumovsky Academy in London on Saturday June 24th 2023  SUNDAY JUNE 25th 2023. We hope you will show your full support for this event. UKAAT aims to raise the level of accordion playing in the UK by offering teachers the chance to add to their teaching skills. The event will offer cover topics such as what to cover in the lesson of a brand new student. It will also look at how to critique and offer advice to your on improving students of more advanced pieces. Finally we will look at how to prepare your student for an audition at a further education establishment. Our guest speakers will Owen Murray (Professor of Accordion at the Royal Academy of Music) and Anthony Beckwith (Teacher at Diocese of Leeds). After a lunch break we will have a workshop on how to lay good foundations for jazz teaching taken by Italian jazz accordionist/teacher/festival organiser Renzo Ruggieri who will also give a short concert at the end of the day. The day will also see performances from some of the accordion students at the RAM. The will also be the opportunity to purchase some books and music which might be useful to teachers. The accordion workshop is open to accordion teachers, accordion students and all supporters of UKAAT. TEACHERS AND STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR ACCORDIONS WITH THEM TO THE EVENT AND JOIN IN THE FUN.
