Mark Lasis – Two sides to his musical talent
Mark Lasis continues his successful jazz fusion route whilst studying classical accordion at The Royal Academy of Music. Not an easy route to do both by any means but a wise one. Jazz fusion is his passion but the classical training will give him the refinement which he will find useful whatever genre he is called upon to play in the promising future that lies ahead for him. Undoubtedly, we will be hearing his classical side next year at the Winter-term RAM concert. In the meantime catch him at two venues this November. Firstly, as part of a showcase and then in his own concert.
Jazz-fusion accordionist and composer Mark Lasis brings his quintet to Next Door Records for the first time!
Mark is a young London-based accordionist whose music combines elements of jazz, funk and rock among other styles. His innovative sound, combining unique instrumentation and mature original compositions has garnered him recognition as one of the most promising emerging jazz artists in London. He has already performed at Off the Cuff, Camden Club, Temple of Art and Music and at the iconic Hootananny Brixton, as well as sold-out headline shows at The Bullingdon (Oxford), Vineyard Jazz Club Canary Wharf, Bloc Glasgow and O2 Academy Oxford.
Featuring some of London’s best up-and-coming young jazz musicians, this is not a gig to miss.
