Hohner Polyphonic- 41 key/120 Bass/42 Free Bass (C-griff) Piano Accordion £1600
This Hohner accordion is a standard bass accordion with one register which converts the major, minor and dominant 7th rows of chords to C-system free bass, It’s quite unusual in this sense as usually all four rows covert to free bass in modern converter accordions but in this accordion ONLY 3 rows convert.. Only one 8′ set of reeds actually plays on the free bass. The free bass range is from C2 to F5 and is situated in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows (corresponding to dominant 7th, minor and major rows). t might be a good instrument to consider if anyone is considering learning free bass but just wants to try it out before committing to spending what is usually a lot more money for a modern converter instrument. Alternately it makes a very nice standard bass instrument. It has 4 sets of treble reeds and no cassotto and is fairly wet-tuned so could pass for musette. The reed configuration of the right hand manual is 16′,8′, 8′, 4′, and the reeds are not of the hand made variety but produce a good quality sound. Comes with a good quality, sturdy case resembling a flight case. Please email info@zzmusic.uk to arrange a test drive (no obligation to purchase).
