The London Tango album has been released but the launch concert was postponed until further notice due to Covid19
The Romano Viazzani Ensemble had to sadly postpone their London Tango album launch concert at The Pheasantry last month due to the rapidly developing Coronavirus situation.. It is hoped that this will be moved to when things return to normal. Ongoing restrictions are likely to affect the Maidstone Pizza Express Concert scheduled for May 23rd too but a decision will be taken nearer the time. The Romano Viazzani Ensemble still releasing both online through many different platforms like Spotify, iTunes etc, or if one likes to feel the album in their hand, read the booklet and see the artwork then the CD is also available by clicking here.
The new album London Tango takes Argentine Tango and adds a London twist. The album features 5 brand new pieces by Viazzani including 4 specially commissioned for the album, one collaboration with Barimar, two other new works, and some wonderful traditional Argentine and European tangos with a healthy dose of Piazzolla. This is the fruition of a project which was made possible through the Kickstarter crowdfunding website. The album is packed with material and you get value for money with over an hour’s worth of music for £12.00. The line up has Romano Viazzani on accordion, Barbara Dziewiecka-Data on violin, Jonathan Preiss on guitar, John Bailey on piano and Nick Pini on double bass and two wonderful singers in the form of Joanna Strand (soprano) and Jacqui Tate (Contralto).
For those interested in some of the original music written for the album the conductors score with band parts are available for purchase and are scored for accordion/violin/electric guitar/piano/double bass and vocals where appropriate. Versions for solo accordion will appear in due course.
