De Souza’s Spring Concerts kick off with Rossini and Palmeri

Some fabulous dates coming up for Ben d Souza.  Now firmly part of his repertoire is Rossini’s Petit Messe Solennelle with a performance in Clifton Cathedral, Bristol in March and another performance in the Summer (details TBA).  Most interesting will be a performance of Palmeri’s Tango Mass in March too. Palmeri Misa a Buenos Aires with Amici Chamber Choir

Argentinian composer Martin Palmeri’s Misa a Buenos Aires is a crossover of the Latin Mass text and nuevo tango inspired music. It is scored for choir, mezzo-soprano soloists, strings, piano and bandoneon/accordion. It was premiered in 1996 at the Avenida Theatre in Buenos Aires.
