Bardi – Gigi Stok biography-book launch. 19th August 2025 at 17.30 – Teatro Maria Luigia – Romano Viazzani

Viazzani takes Stok again, this time for Alessandra Marchese’s new biography of the Italian accordion virtuoso

Valcenostoria, Centro Studi Valceno and La Famiglia Bardigiana have come together to organise a pleasurable Summer afternoon under the collonade of the Teatro Maria Luigia in Bardi (Parma), Italy, on 19th August at 17.30.  There will be a brief talk about Alessandra Marchese’s biography of the phenomenal accordionist from Parma – Gigi Stok and the afternoon will be interspersed with contributions by Romano Viazzani on his accordion. Romano Viazzani grew up listening to his father’s Gigi Stok records which were a great inspiration to him when he started learning the accordion.  In 2007 Romano Viazzani released an album called Viazzani takes Stok dedicated to the music of the maestro, which is still available on CD and on Spotify as well as other online musical platforms.

The event is free, and copies of Gigi Stok. Uomo e musicista della terra natìa will be available to buy.  Sadly, it is only available in Italian. The event will be attended by Gigi Stok’s daughter Vittoria Giovanna Stocchi.
