If you enjoy a bit of comedy with your accordion music then don’t miss comedy duo Can you dig it with singer and ukulele-player Jo Stephenson and accordionist Dan Woods for a bit of horticultural comedy. The event will be at Seeds of Italy headquarters in Harrow. It is run by amateur accordionist, accordion restorer and enthusiast of all things accordion, Paolo Arrigo in his new warehouse performance area. It’s an intimate setting and what can be better than to blend comedy, accordions and ‘seed to plate’ food philosophy? £12 tickets include a glass of wine. See link to book.
If you hate slugs then you’ll love this! Hit gardening comedy show Can You Dig It? returns to home soil for a one-off performance at the perfect venue – Seeds of Italy! Sprouting from the fertile brains of comedy songwriters and real-life allotmenteers Jo Stephenson and Dan Woods, Can You Dig It? features a wheelbarrow-load of songs covering topics such as vegetable theft, annoying allotment neighbours and an evil pigeon called Derrick. The duo have performed at more than 60 venues up and down the UK and are the only music/comedy act to feature on BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time since it launched in 1947.
Highlights of the show include a rap battle between an angry gardener and a slug, a 1980s-style ballad to Alan Titchmarsh and a virtuoso performance on the cucumber trumpet.
The pair have sung songs in gardens, garden centres, allotments and sheds but this will be the first time they have performed at a seed company. Suitable for all ages; gardeners and non-gardeners.
Tickets include a FREE glass of sparkling wine and – if you’re inspired by Jo and Dan’s attempts to grow their own – the chance to buy seeds. Book now to avoid disappointment!
