The vast rhythmic panorama that supports Brazilian Popular Music has certainly been greatly enriched thanks to the meeting of different peoples and cultures that have created today’s Brazil. It was in Brazil, during a musical tour in 2012, that the idea for this work was born.
So it was that, on our return to our homeland, we “motivated” Italian accordionists and melodeon players from different geographical and musical backgrounds to develop their own original pieces on as many rhythms taken from the “method” The Brazilian Rhythm Section written by Felice and published a few years ago. by the prestigious music publishing house BMG Ricordi. In total, nine, “the magnificent 9” accepted the project and to their pieces was added another created by the well-known Brazilian Maestro of Italian origins Adriano Giffoni, whom we met in Rio on that occasion.
The result went beyond our expectations and we believe that this “Sanfoneiro” will be well received by a European audience, even those not necessarily passionate about free-reed instruments, but we are also sure that beyond the Atlantic Ocean many will draw inspiration from a product new and absolutely free from pre-established musical schemes.
Enjoy
