Romano Viazzani to play with Dame Penelope Wilton at Jermyn Street Theatre – Sunday 20th February 2022. Olivier Award winner Dame Penelope Wilton reads Chekhov, accompanied by live accordion music. Dmitri Gurov, a Moscow banker, is a connoisseur of women, who never lingers long. But one day, on holiday by the sea, he spots a woman walking her dog, and his life changes forever. Vladimir Nabokov hailed The Lady with the Dog as one of literature’s finest short stories. It has been adapted by Joyce Carol Oates and dramatised by Brian Friel.
