Sensational jazz- cabaret songstress, Joanna Strand, returns to Live at Zedel with and is joined by the French opera star, Olivier Dumait, who will bring his warm lyric tenor to this evening of sumptuous French masterpieces including songs by Kosma, Legrand, Rogers and Hammerstein, and Glanzberg.

Sunday Sessions present The Southern Cone Quintet – Sunday February 19th 2017. Anisa Arslanagić – violin, Claude Werner – clarinet/flute/arranger, James Kitchman – electric guitar, Iñigo Mikeleiz Berrade – accordion, Louis Thomas – double bass- Southern Cone Quintet takes its name from the geographical area of the same name, embracing the countries of Uruguay, Argentina and Chile. The Southern Cone has a rich and diverse musical tradition, with genres including Tango, Cueca, and Candombe, as well as indigenous ethnic forms such as Mapuche music. Divine Comedy 2017 Tour -British accordionist Ian Watson has been playing accordion with unique band Divine Comedy since the tour kicked off in October 2016. However, the tour continues in the new year. ZZ Music has had reports that its a fabulous concert and from an accordion viewpoint its great to see the accordion featuring in so much music of all descriptions the world of pop being no exception.

Many performers find they can play perfectly well when they practise but then in performance they lose focus, or show outward signs of nervousness which prevent them from giving a performance they are worthy of. This book will help conquer this all to common problem with professionals, students and amateurs alike. It will help one to understand why it happens and how to counteract it. It is the next best thing to having a one to one or group session with this great lady herself.

The accordion has been used in modern music over half a century ago. Arne Nordheim is probably one of the best known exponents of combining accordion with electronics in his piece Dinosaurs from 1971. It takes a brave accordionist to release a CD of this type rather than going for the more commercial option or even going down the classical transcription route. Perfectionist Luc is the perfect person to carry out such an endeavour. His perfectionism and extraordinary ability combine to create a perfect symbiosis between his instrument and the sounds generated on the computer.
