UKAAT LOGO (3) 1200 1200
February is upon us and looming just a few days away its UKAAT's first ever workshop to be held at the Royal Academy of Music. To avoid disappointment please book your ticket ahead of the event so we have some idea of numbers or you can take your chances on the day. The room is not huge so there is a practical limit to the numbers we can allow in. So far there is a good mix of teachers, students and professionals and it promises to be a great day of informative workshops interspersed with concert performances by the Students of the Royal Academy of Music and special guest jazz artist from Italy, Simone Zanchini. There's this and much more on 7th February at the Royal Academy of music. It's very important that this event comes off for UKAAT if it is to continue promoting accordion teaching so if you haven't bought a ticket yet do so now. Remember that UKAAT is run by volunteers and has no funds other than what will be raised at this event after all expenses have been paid. Don't forget Simone Zanchini's will be part of this event too. All teaching and non-teaching accordionists welcome. See the link below. February is the month of love and what better way to annoy your nearest and dearest by trotting off to Eastbourne's Accordions Together event on Valentine's weekend. Don't forget to send them a card! Coming up mid March is Glasgow's Accordion Showcase, an event which promises to become a twice yearly festival. I hope ZZ Music Subscribers in Scotland will support that event. See you next month.

UKAAT (United Kingdom Association of Accordion Teachers) are proud to announce their first workshop for accordion teachers. After an initial meeting over 2 years ago of 40 teachers from all over the UK those present were surveyed and asked what they would most like to explore as part of their own professional development as accordion teachers. This first workshop will try to cover a number of the most voted-for subjects in an all-day event at The Royal Academy of Music, London.

We're on a holiday - David Vaughan
The accordion gets into all sorts of ensembles these days fulfilling a variety of roles. Whilst David Vaughan's voice is undoubtedly coming from the world of Rock his own songs have a variety of influences and the album title We're on a holiday is very apt as the album sometimes evokes urban Buenos Aires and sometimes…
