Born in 1994 in Barañáin (Navarra, Spain), Iñigo Mikeleiz Berrade began studying accordion in his local music school with Maria Antonia Gonzalez. In 2004 he entered the Conservatory of Music “Pablo Sarasate” with Salvador Parada as his teacher. In 2009 he became a student of Prof. Nekane Iturrioz at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Navarra, and remained her student until in 2015 he graduated Bachelor of Music with honours, and moved to London for postgraduate studies with Prof. Owen Murray at the Royal Academy of Music. He will graduate Master of Arts in Performance in 2017.

He has attended various masterclasses with, among others, Anne Landa, Javier López Jaso, Miguel Ituarte, Alexey Artemyev, Antonio Serrano and Javier Colina.

He has participated in music cycles such as “White Night” in Cádiz and the cultural week of accordion in Zarautz, and in different projects such as “Visible music”, “SIGNUM” and “MARTIROlógika”.

Iñigo particularly enjoys collaboration with contemporary composers, and has premiered a number of new works for accordion: David Johnstone’s “Vocalise” for accordion solo and his “Concerto for accordion and orchestra” (with the Orchestra of the Conservatory Pablo Sarasate), Jesus Garísoain’s “Samahibeko Gaua” for accordion and dance (in collaboration with the School of Dance of Navarra), Urtzi Iraizoz’s “Bihurrikeritan” for accordion and guitar duo, Ignacio Fernandez Galindo’s “Túmulos II” for accordion duo and tape and his “MARTIROlógika” for ensemble,  and Xabier Sarasa’s “Tiento IV”, concerto for orchestra and solo accordion  (with the orchestra of the Superior Conservatory of Music of Navarra).
