Phantom of the Opera’s Joanna Strand brings together an exceptional group of jazz musicians and West End singers on their Sunday night off from performing on the west end stage to celebrate the songs made famous by Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel in London’s newest live music venue – Pizza Express Live, High Holborn. With arrangements of the originals in French, and new translations by Phantom of the Opera’s librettist Charles Hart, this evening’s singers will be joined by Romano Viazzani on accordion and Yaron Stavi on double bass and musical director John Bailey on piano.

Sensational jazz- cabaret songstress, Joanna Strand returns to Live at Zedel with her ‘beautiful, pure and richly melodic voice’ (John Etheridge). Tonight she is joined by the French opera star, Olivier Dumait, who will bring his warm lyric tenor to this evening of sumptuous French masterpieces including songs by Kosma, Rogers and Hammerstein, and Glanzberg.

She will be ably backed by John Bailey on Piano, Romano Viazzani on accordion and  Yaron Stavi on Double Bass. The Crazy Cocks Cabaret as it was previously known as, has undergone a name change but Live at Zedel is still as magical a venue as it ever was.
