Sunday Sessions present The Southern Cone Quintet – Sunday February 19th 2017. Anisa Arslanagić – violin, Claude Werner – clarinet/flute/arranger, James Kitchman – electric guitar, Iñigo Mikeleiz Berrade – accordion, Louis Thomas – double bass- Southern Cone Quintet takes its name from the geographical area of the same name, embracing the countries of Uruguay, Argentina and Chile. The Southern Cone has a rich and diverse musical tradition, with genres including Tango, Cueca, and Candombe, as well as indigenous ethnic forms such as Mapuche music. Sensational jazz- cabaret songstress, Joanna Strand, returns to Live at Zedel with and is joined by the French opera star, Olivier Dumait, who will bring his warm lyric tenor to this evening of sumptuous French masterpieces including songs by Kosma, Legrand, Rogers and Hammerstein, and Glanzberg.
She will be ably backed by John Bailey on Piano, Romano Viazzani on accordion and Yaron Stavi on Double Bass. 22nd January 2017 From Paris with Love -Live at Zedel – 7pm start.
